Videographer & Social Media Manager

The Business

Platform Media is a full-service creative design agency. At Platform Media, we offer digital marketing services including; web design, SEO services, Google AdWords, social media promotion and brand creation.

We build quality websites, tailored to reflect brand images, to market products and services. Our business doesn’t end with the creation of websites, we work to effectively market brands, services or products and continue to tweak and steer digital sites and channels in the crowded and often choppy sea that is digital marketing.

The Opportunity

This role has specific responsibility for the creation of digital content and the management of social media channels. The individual will lead to the development of social media activity, which is engaging, sector leading and which exploits the opportunities offered by all digital platforms. The individual will report to our Senior Web Designer.

 As the lead on the development of digital content, the individual will also need to be a skilled videographer who can envisage and create high-quality video content across a range of digital platforms. The individual must develop highly creative and innovative video content and keep up to date with current trends in video content and ensure that the offering is at the forefront of digital content.

The individual will also be expected to act as the technical advisor on all matters related to the use of social media and must also be able: 

  • To create a content development plan for video content for use on digital platforms.
  • To storyboard video content and present ideas to senior staff.
  • To organise and film videos designed to have maximum impact on the chosen channel(s).
  • To edit videos to the highest possible standard including voice-overs, music and subtitling.
  • To network and build relationships internally and externally
  • Significantly contribute to and assist in the development and delivery of the strategy in relation to digital content and social media.
  • To create campaign plans, which support wider marketing and recruitment activity.
  • To develop engaging and effective social media content which balances the corporate and the quirky, the serious and the fun.
  • To adapt content to ensure it is relevant to different audiences in particular ensuring that it has a positive and relevant impact on the audience.
  • To grow social media audiences and their active engagement across all channels.
  • To monitor and report on social media reach and impact.
  • To stay up to date with the latest social media trends and new channels and which audiences are using what and how.
  • To provide multichannel guidance and training to other staff.
  • To lead on the management of social media channels in the case of a crisis.
  • To develop and maintain a log of all customer social media accounts across the Platform Media group.
  • To network and build relationships internally and externally
  • To line manage the Digital Content Intern
  • To manage budgets as may be assigned
  • To work collaboratively and proactively with the web design, Graphic design and sales teams to support and integrate with their work

Essential Criteria 

  • Previous experience of successfully managing business/organisational social media channels
  • Experience in creating highly creative and innovative content and seamlessly blending corporate messages with more innovative content
  • Experience in audience targeting and ensuring channels are relevant to all audiences
  • Experience in using a wide variety of social media management and monitoring tools and of measuring and reporting on the success
  • Experience in successfully growing audience size, diversity and engagement
  • Experience in producing high quality and high impact videos which are tailored to different channels
  • Experience in video production via a range of facilities including camera, phone and applications
  • Experience in using video editing software and of editing, doing voice-overs and adding subtitles to video content
